FIT INDIA POSTER MAKING COMPETITION

During the FIT INDIA week being celebrated at The Olive School Thol under the guidance of CBSE, poster making competition was held. 70 students from classes 3 to 10 participated.
DISTRICT LEVEL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS

Chess is the purest form of competition; the better thinker wins. Hunched over a chess table at the MPM School, Ismailabad on 6th May 2018 for District-level Chess Championship, the Olives won and qualified for State-level Chess Championship under 11, 13, 15 and 17 categories. Acing the championship with their intimidating moves, the students attained the following ranks in different categories:

Congratulating the winners on their success, the Principal said, "the School strives to provide opportunities for students to learn chess and travel to tournaments, experiences many of the students wouldn't otherwise have had." "Chess is very much a part of what we are", she added.
NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION
January 26, 2018
Republic day is celebrated today with great patriotic fervor in the school. The unfurling of the flag on the tune of National Anthem, singing patriotic songs, and group dances on famous Bollywood national songs lent a lot of colour to the day.
Mr Bakshish Singh of Nalvi, the Chief Guest of the Day exhorted the students to develop the qualities of honesty, integrity and respect for the constitution of India; bravery and courage to face the challenges is the hallmark of democracy. March Past by the students was the highlight of the day.
RASHI & ARSHDEEP – BEST ATHLETES OF THE SCHOOL.

Annual Sports Day at School is always the day full of fun, frolic, mirth and laughter. “SAMRITI House” won the overall trophy; Rashi of Form VIII and Arshdeep of Form X were declared the best athletes in Girls and Boys category respectively.
Ankush Manuja, the chief guest of the day, expressed his admiration for young athletes and sports persons of the school. “Physical strength is the pre-requisite to mental and psychological development ; hence, childhood is the period when maximum emphasis should be laid on the physical activity in schools,” he said. “I am happy to see a new school equipped with a number of indoor and outdoor sports facilities including shooting, basketball, cricket, table tennis and chess.”
A grant of one lakh rupees was announced for the school to promote The Olive Kid sports and entertainment activity.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ON THANKSGIVING DAY

‘Sukhmani Sahib Paath’ followed by singing of Punjabi hymns (Shabad) is the way the Olive family celebrates Thanksgiving. The students, teachers, parents and the Olive management gets together to offer prayers to the Almighty, to elders community and all the near and dear ones. The event is followed by community lunch in the school campus prepared and served by the members of the school community especially the students and the teachers.
The school management feels such activities help children in character building, service before self, team work, respect for all the cultures and traditions
